4 Tips for Fast-Growth Headcount Optimisation

Let's say you have doubled your ARR or paying customer base lately and you now feel that you are ready for next-stage investment and growth. Before you start hiring like crazy, just pause, step back and make sure your headcount plan is the most effective. Here are a few tips for you:
1.No showing off – do you really need another product manager on top of the 4 you already have, or are you just keen to brag about your “100% growth in headcount this year”?.
2.Improve and automatise – hiring is often the easy solution. Try to systematically ask “are we trying to compensate for a lack of efficiency? Is there a way to get better organised or to automatise?”.
3.Control your costs – salary is going to be one of your most important operating cost and I’m sure you don’t want to have to cut on this one later and lay-off team members if this can be avoided…
4.Design an effective hiring strategy – make sure that you map the skills and competencies that you need for growth, and that each new hire brings something specific and valuable to the table.
